As our nation struggles to deal with the Coronavirus COVID-19, the health and safety of our Owners, Guests and Team Members is our highest priority.
San Francisco has changed dramatically in recent days. The traditional reasons for visiting our favorite City to experience theaters, sporting events and the eclectic fine dining have either been limited or cancelled. San Francisco along with 6 other surrounding Counties in the Bay Area have ordered their citizens to “Shelter-In-Place” for the next three (3) weeks. (March 16, 2020 – April 7, 2020)
In the last 48 hours we have experienced an unprecedented number of cancellations of Room Reservations by Owners and Guests. Continued operations exposes the risk and safety of our Owners, Guests and Team Members.
For these reasons and consistent with the decision made by the co-operator of the remaining hotel rooms in the Donatello Hotel building, we will reluctantly be shutting down our 45 rooms beginning March 21, 2020 until at least April 7, 2020. As we are dealing with this dynamic situation it is possible that the closure will be extended, but it is too early to tell. We are now in the process of communicating with existing reservations during the initial shutdown period. We encourage our Owners and Guests to make plans and reservations for rooms on or after April 8, 2020, subject to the shutdown continuing. Owners with Anniversary Years expiring may be granted extensions upon request at the time of making new reservations.
We will continue to communicate and serve our Owners and Guests via email and telephone calls, with Team Members and Management Team working from home during the shutdown period.
