CDOA
Displays its Generosity
The silent auction and raffle items at the CDOA Christmas Party
in December 2007 contributed to a $2,672 profit. In keeping with the
tradition of making the party a charitable event, the Educational/Social
Events Committee, with Board approval, recommended donating $2,500
to this year’s designated recipient, Covenant House of Oakland.
The event of the year will be the
Annual Holiday Dinner Dance to be held in the Alexandria Room of the St.
Francis Hotel on December 2, 2007. Reserve your space now for this event
by visiting the Activities Section or by
sending in your request through the
Event Sign Up Sheet.

CDOA
Team Assists With Making Exchanges
Having trouble banking your
time or making an exchange of your Owner’s time? The CDOA team can
assist.
On a pilot basis, the Club
is reactivating a system whereby the reservations staff will help with
contacts with the exchange companies, secure reservations and generally
assist. For the 90-day pilot program, the fee will be $40.
During the trial, the staff
will see how much time a typical transaction takes and what sort of
requests are made. A price scale will be developed by July that will
probably reflect whether the request is domestic or international, the
number of PIUs involved in a single request and other factors to be
determined in the test.

Online
Reservations Are Now Secure
Making a reservation via
the Club Donatello web site has been made faster and easier, which in turn
is taking pressure off the busy telephone lines.
Wayne Jerves, an Owner who
is also our Chief Technology Officer, has worked with Earthlink, the
web-site’s host, and others on digital encryption, creating a secure
connection.
That means that Owners can
now safely put their credit card information on the Reservation Form on
the site.
The new encryption was
effective in February and that month 45 bookings were completed that way.
In March, the figure jumped to more than 300, and seemed to be climbing in
early April.
As before, requests via the web site are
just that, requests, which must be confirmed by the staff. However the new
system speeds that process. In addition, the new system separates the
requests, so that the staff can handle those from Owners first.
