Appointment process for CDOA Board-appointed Committees

CDOA Bylaws, Section 5.15 provides that the Board of Directors shall have the power to appoint an Executive Committee and other committees to assist the Board in the management of the Association.

The standing committees and advisory groups which currently exist are as follows: CC&Rs/Bylaws/Rules Committee, Financial Management Committee, Human Resources Management Committee, Risk Management Committee, Marketing & Business Development Committee, and the Board Advisory Group.

The policies and procedures for all of the Board-appointed Committees were updated as of the Annual Owners Meeting on June 9, 2009. They are included on this WEB site under the Committees heading and link.
Any Owner in good standing may apply to serve on one or more of these committees, by simply completing the Committee Application Form. This can be done by printing it out and sending it into the Club Administration Office, or completing it electronically online and submitting it that way. All applications received will be reviewed by the Club Management Team to confirm the Owner’s good standing status. Then the President & CEO, the Vice-President, and the Secretary, will review them for possible appointment under the approved policies now in place.

Due to the specific size limitations of each committee, some Owners may be appointed to serve for the 1-year term involved, and other Owners may be placed on a waiting list for future vacancies. However, Owners on the waiting list can be included on an electronic version of the appointed committee so that they can still receive information and provide input and feedback, however, they will not be attending meetings at the Club Donatello as scheduled.

Owners may serve on multiple committees, and for multiple years, however, we do try and permit new Owners to serve each year, and rotate committee assignments so that we have a broad cross-section of knowledgeable Owners who have served over the years in the past, and for the future years and benefit of our Association.

All candidates will be notified before the first quarterly meeting in July 2009, of their appointment status for this coming service year, as the period runs from the Annual Owners Meeting of each year to the next one.

At that time, the CDOA WEB site will be updated to recognize the Owners appointed to serve on each of the committees for the coming year.
