SELECTION
OF CDOA COMMITTEE MEMBERS
CDOA
Bylaws Section 5.15 provides that the Board of Directors shall have the
power to appoint an Executive Committee and other committees to assist
the Board in the management of the Association.
The standing committees and advisory groups which currently exist
are as follows: CC&R’s/Bylaws & Rules, Financial Management,
Human Resources Management, Investments, Legislative Affairs, Legal
Advisory Group, Marketing, Nominating, Risk Management, and Social
Events.
All
Board appointed committees are scheduled to meet at least quarterly.
All Owners in good standing are eligible to apply for membership
on one or
more committees by following the procedures listed below.
1)
A prospective Committee Member requests a Committee Application
form and description of various committees by calling Club Donatello
Management Team members Marie Vergara at (415) 885-8847 or Mandy Vergara
at (415) 885-8831. You may also print an application form or submit an
electronic application by selecting Volunteer
Application. Committee
descriptions and responsibilities can also be viewed online at Committees.
Note: If an Application has previously been
submitted, it can be resubmitted with
desired changes. The Applicant can also complete a new form.
2)
The Club Management Team immediately verifies that the Owner is
in good standing before
providing an Application Form. If the Owner is not in good standing,
they are notified of this by the Club Management Team with information
as to what steps they need to take to be in good standing.
3)
The Applicant returns their completed form to Club Management,
who then forwards the completed application to all Nominating Committee
(NC) members for their review.
4)
The NC members respond to
the NC Chair with comments. The Chair may decide that the Candidate
should be contacted for interviewing, and any additional information
and/or clarification of information the Candidate has provided. If the
NC denies the application, the applicant and Club Management will be
notified by the NC Chair in writing.
5)
The NC Chair then sends the
NC-approved application to the appropriate other Committee Chair(s),
based on the assessment of where the applicant may best be suited to
serve the CDOA. If the Committee Chair selects the candidate for their
Committee, they then submit the application to the President & CEO
and Secretary of the Board for approval. In the absence of either of
these Officers, any of the other Officers may receive the application
and act on it.
(The Officers of the Board are the President/CEO, Vice-President,
Secretary, CFO, and Treasurer).
6)
The President/CEO and Secretary then notify the appropriate
Committee Chair of their action. If the application is denied, the
reason will be stated in writing by the President/CEO and communicated
by the President/CEO to the applicant.
7)
The appropriate Committee Chair reports back to the NC Chair and
Club Management, in writing, indicating acceptance or rejection of the
application for their Committee.
8)
After acceptance, Club Management updates Committee Roster
records and the Club Donatello web site
to reflect the addition of a new committee member or members.
